As part of the World Anaesthesia Day 2026 celebration, the Ethiopian Society of Anesthesiologists, Critical Care and Pain Medicine Physicians (ESACCPMP) presents an educational webinar led by Dr. Tariku Assefa, MD, MPH, President of the Society.Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) refers to physical, cognitive, and mental health problems that may develop or persist after critical illness and intensive care. These challenges can affect recovery, daily functioning, quality of life, and family relationships long after discharge from the intensive care unit.
The webinar aims to raise awareness of PICS among healthcare professionals and highlight the importance of ongoing support, rehabilitation, and follow-up care for patients recovering from critical illness.
